Traurige Nachricht für alle Großwildjäger auf USA Tour. In Arizona ist die Kameljagd gesetzlich verboten. Amerika und seine Gesetze. Immer wieder ist man erstaunt, was hier erlaubt ist und was nicht. Derzeit kursiert online eine Liste von seltsamen Gesetzen in den verschiedenen Bundesstaaten. Das reicht vom einem Halteverbot von Krokodilen in Badewannen (Arkansas) bis hin zu dem Verbot, nicht aus fliegenden Flugzeugen auszusteigen (Maine). In Minnesota müssen alle Badewannen Füße haben, in New Jersey darf man seine Suppe nicht schlürfen und in Iowa sollte man sich nicht länger als fünf Minuten küssen.

Einige Verbote und Gesetze werden sicherlich nicht mehr beachtet und verfolgt, sie stehen einfach noch in den Gesetzesbüchern. Und doch, für USA Reisende könnten sie dennoch interessant sein

Florida – It is illegal to skateboard without a license.

Georgia – It is illegal to use profanity in front of a dead body which lies in a funeral home or in a coroners office.

Hawaii –  Coins are not allowed to be placed in one’s ears.

Idaho –  Riding a merry-go-round on Sundays is considered a crime.

Illinois – Kites may not be flown within the city limits.

Indiana – “Spiteful Gossip” and “talking behind a person’s back” are illegal.

Iowa – Kisses may last for no more than five minutes.

Kansas – No one may catch fish with his bare hands.

Kentucky – One may not dye a duckling or other fowl blue and offer it for sale unless more than six are for sale at once.

Louisiana – Biting someone with your natural teeth is “simple assault,” while biting someone with your false teeth is “aggravated assault.

Maine – You may not step out of a plane in flight.

Maryland – It’s illegal to take a lion to the movies.

Massachusetts – Quakers and witches are banned

Michigan – Putt-putt golf courses must close by 1:00 AM.

Minnesota – All bathtubs must have feet.

Mississippi – Cattle rustling is punishable by hanging.

Missouri –  Minors can buy rolling paper and tobacco but not lighters.

Montana – It is a felony for a wife to open her husband’s mail.

Nebraska – Sneezing or burping is illegal during a church service.

Nevada – It is illegal to lie down on the sidewalk.

New Hampshire – You may not run machinery on Sundays.

New Jersey – You may not slurp your soup.

New Mexico – You may not carry a lunchbox down Main Street.

New York – A fine of $25 can be levied for flirting.

North Carolina – It’s against the law to sing off key.

North Dakota – Beer and pretzels can’t be served at the same time in any bar or restaurant.

Ohio– It is illegal to fish for whales on Sunday.

Oklahoma – It is illegal to wear your boots to bed.

Oregon – Drivers may not pump their own gas.

Pennsylvania – Persons convicted of felonies may not operate Bingo games.

Rhode Island – You may not sell toothpaste and a toothbrush to the same customer on a Sunday.

South Carolina – A person must be eighteen years old to play a pinball machine.

South Dakota – It is illegal to lie down and fall asleep in a cheese factory.

Tennessee – It is a crime to share your Netflix password in Tennessee.

Texas – It is illegal to milk another person’s cow.

Utah – It is illegal not to drink milk.

Vermont – All residents shall bathe every Saturday night.

Virginia – Children are not to go trick-or-treating on Halloween.

Washington – The harassing of Bigfoot, Sasquatch or other undiscovered subspecies is a felony punishable by a fine and/or imprisonment.

West Virginia – Roadkill may be taken home for supper.

Wisconsin – State Law made it illegal to serve apple pie in public restaurants without cheese.

Wyoming – You may not take a picture of a rabbit from January to April without an official permit.
